THE CLAIM

Leader in Me is a program that is intended to "Build leadership in students, create a high-trust culture, and improve academic achievement."

THE PROBLEM

From the limited sources I could gather, the cost to implement Leader in Me is $25,000 per school for the first year of implementation and $10,000 per school per year in subsequent years[1]. Assuming every school in St. Tammany Parish has implemented this (very realistic and likely), this would cost the Parish (the taxpaper) $1,375,000 in its first year of implementation and $550,000 in subsequent years, as there are 55 schools in St. Tammany Parish (55 * 25k and 55 * 10k).

Now, assuming this was useful at all, MAYBE this would be a good use of money. However, it is not. This is a program effectively intended for elementary schoolers (as I am sure every student who watched the first video on Monday concluded) and will motivate absolutely nobody. Unfortunately, what brain dead politicians and school board members don't understand is that repeatedly telling kids (especially high schoolers) to just "adopt good habits" and all of your problems are solved doesn't fucking work 😂😂😂

All this program does is waste substantial amounts of taxpayer money, waste everybody at Northshore's time as this program is structured in a way that wouldn't even be effective for 5 year olds, and takes away valuable APP time from people who actually want to do shit on Mondays. Not to mention it just makes people hate our school and lose faith in our school system more, though it's blatantly obvious that neither our administators nor do our board members care.

LITERAL BRAINROT

It is also at least worth mentioning that the parent group for leader in me, "FranklinCovey", is deeply connected to mormonism and Leader in Me has been critizied for indoctrinating kids into being complacent retards[2].
